I’m a very passionate, creative and motivated girl who has huge dreams. Sometimes I feel as if my mind never stops! I put my heart fully and completely into everything I do, including this blog.
I’ve been a competitive figure skater for nearly my entire life. Figure skating is one of my true loves. Something about the way it feels to glide and move to the music is such an irresistible feeling. Aside from skating I enjoy practicing yoga (a lot!), reading, photography and creating healthy and delicious recipes!
Being a high level athlete, nutrition has always been a part of my life. I always ate pretty healthy, but not completely. It wasn’t until 3 years ago when I was sick of dealing with so much bloating and digestive discomfort that I decided to change my diet. It was at the point where it inhibited my training and influenced my mood. At this point I removed dairy and gluten from my diet and felt immensely better. I was shocked by how much a little change could influence my life.
I decided to study human nutrition in college to further understand how the body works and how much nutrition can impact it. I absolutely loved the course and all of the valuable information I learned.
I first decided that I wanted to become vegan after seeing a documentary. I had heard of all the horrible things that happen in the dairy and meat industry, but I always thought that it must be exaggerated. I mean we live in Canada. Canadians would never do that! Boy was I wrong.
So I did more research and learned about the positive health effects as well. Veganism was not just a fad, it had actual hard-core evidence to back it up. Better for your health, the animals AND the environment. After my research it wasn’t hard to go cold turkey and cut all animal products out of my life (pun intended).
Delicious Nutrition was born after I realized how good a plant based diet made me feel! I create recipes that are always gluten-free and vegan. My mission is to make vegan recipes so delicious that they become the norm. I want people to feel good, look good and do good.
